Hi, I'm Astrid. I'm an artist, educator, environmental scientist, and regenerative farmer based in Myalup, Western Australia. I draw inspiration from the living landscapes around me, from the paddock to the coast and all the vibrant life in between.
Living and working on our farm has shown me just how connected we are to nature and the food system we’re all part of. Every day, I see the balance between producing food and caring for biodiversity, soil health, and the long-term wellbeing of the land. Those experiences naturally flow into my art, inspiring me to capture these connections on canvas. I hope my paintings spark reflection and conversation about sustainability and conservation, while celebrating the colour, texture, energy, and movement of the landscapes I’m lucky enough to be part of.
My upcoming exhibition, Feathers in Bloom, brings together floral paintings inspired by bouquets grown on the flower farm at Siverina Estate in Gingin, alongside the birdlife from Fresh Tracks Farm. Each piece celebrates the connection between flowers and feathers, and the colours and movement that link these two landscapes. The works will be on display from 14 November to 21 December.
